Grinnell vs Faith Baptist Highlights

Here are some highlights from our game on November 23, 2010 where we beat Faith Baptist 137-103 (highlights).  We managed to force 44 turnovers and had 19 different players knock down a three point field goal.

Grinnell vs Lindenwood Highlights

Here are some highlights from our home opener against Lindenwood-Bellville (highlights).  We ended up winning 120-90, thanks in large part to a great defensive performance in which we forced 40 turnovers.

  

The Start of a New Season

The 2010 season is underway and our team has gotten off to a great start.  After beating Lindenwood-Belleville 120-90 we traveled to Wells Fargo Arena for an instate matchup against the Buena Vista Beavers.  Incredible defensive pressure helped us overcome a 10 point 2nd half deficit en route to a 113-105 win.  We had a good mental and physical test the very next night, as we played a home contest against Faith Baptist.  Our players responded with a 137-104 win and they set an NCAA Record with 19 different players knocking down a 3-point field goal.  Highlights of all 19 threes can be seen below.

Southern Sweep

The Grinnell Pioneers won a pair of games in exciting fashion this past weekend.  On Friday night, the Pioneers squeaked out a 1 point victory over Lawrence University.  Friday's game saw the return of junior guard Scott Kaitz, who had been sidelined for several weeks with a broken hand.  Dylan Seelman scored 21 points and Matt Skelly added 20.  On Saturday afternoon Matt Chalupa made a 16 foot jump shot as time expired to give the Pioneers a 101-99 win over Carroll University.  For his incredible performance on the weekend, sophomore guard Matt Skelly was named the Midwest Conference Player of the Week.
