Our Season Opener

Here are some highlights from our opening game against Waldorf.  We ended up rallying from down 24 points at the half, to win 99-92.  Grinnell had players five players score in double figures: Griffin Lentsch 19, Jesse Ney 17, Matt Skelly 14, Dylan Seelman 12 and Kale Knisley 10.  Grinnell vs Waldorf Highlights

We have a home conference double-header this weekend.  We'll square off against Beloit at 7pm on Friday night and then face Ripon at 4pm on Saturday afternoon.

The Beginning of a New Era

The Pioneers opened up the 2009-10 campaign in dramatic fashion. Down 24 at the half, the Pioneers erupted for 66 second half points and came away with a 99-92 win.  I'll put highlights up sometime this week.

In the meantime, here are some highlights from our game against William Penn on November 18. First year guards Griffin Lentsch and Dylan Seelman scored 36 and 20 points, respectively. Junior point guard Scott Kaitz dished out 11 assists.

On Saturday, November 21 we squared off against a very good Buena Vista team. Again, I'll have highlights from this game later in the week.

The Pioneers travel to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater for a pair of very difficult road games this weekend. We'll face Aurora University on Friday, November 27 and then play UW-Whitewater on Saturday.

Grinnell College feature on ABC's "Race to March Maddness"

ABC did a special on the 2008-09 Grinnell College team that was featured on live television.  Later that year, Grinnell went on to win their 2nd Midwest Conference title in 3 years while averaging over 110 points and 20 three point field goals per game.

Grinnell vs. Fontbonne (1-5-09) - 163-145 - 1st half highlights

Bobby Long goes for 47, John Grotberg for 36 and David Arseneault for 28 on a record breaking night. John Grotberg breaks Steve Wood's career scoring mark and Grinnell breaks the school record for points in a game with 163.

Grinnell vs Knox (12/10/08) - 133-80 - 1st half highlights

Huge first half as we put the game away in the last 11 minutes of first half. Half time score was 84-43.  John Grotberg has 35 points, Bobby Long scores 24 and David Arseneault adds 13 points and 10 assists.
